I know I know, we are not supposed to tell people to shut up. It’s rude it’s bossy and demeaning. However, the way that the enemy tries to set camp up in our heads feeding us negativity, lies, and oppression, sometimes you just need to stand flat footed, and tell the devil to SHUT UP!
When I say the devil is cunning… he will literally sit with you and talk to you about your shortcomings and downfalls, with the intention of making you feel unworthy and alone. I’ve dealt with this a few times. I’d do something or say something that would bring me conviction, and the enemy would step right on in there and try to not only deter me from receiving the instruction that God was giving me in that moment, but he was trying to get me to receive what he wanted me to believe. How many of you have to remind yourself in moments, that the devil is a liar and every impure and derogatory thought is birthed from his kingdom?
He would tell me things like I don’t deserve the blessings of God because I knew better. He would say stuff like God has got you on the back burner and is not going to deliver. He would give me thoughts of complacency. He would try to feed me hopelessness and get me to walk away from salvation. He has many believing that there is no hope or salvation for them because of their history. You! Yes you! There is grace for you!
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. Titus 2:11
All people! Don’t be fooled. There is no end to his deceit, he is determined…so I need you to be determined. What is the enemy saying to you? When the enemy is all up in your head feeding you his deciet, as determined as he is, without wavering and without uncompromising faith, firmly tell him to shut up, it’s your turn to talk. My favorite part of this battle is when the enemy is attacking me so hard, but then I turn around face to face with him and tell him that I am not what he says, but what God says! If you can picture it in your head as someone running away from the enemy, then they remember their power. That power is God and the word of God is your weapon❤️💪🏾‼️
Turn around with your flat foot stance and your sword (the word of God) and attack. This is where the battle turns!! My mother used this term and it is so befitting. Hold the line! -Effie Lee
But don’t just hold the line, push back so hard that the enemy has to retreat. Tell him to go back to the drawing board and think again! The devil has no power over you, he only deceives people into believe his lies. After you have done everything you can to stand, stand firm!!
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
