My husband loves it when months start with the first day being a Monday lol. Its like the perfect time for him to start a workout plan or diet, otherwise its throws him off. We keep it up for a while, but something usually always distracts us, then we fall off all together. As we planned to start a workout plan for the month of February, since it starts on a Monday (don’t judge), God put this thought of self-love in my spirit.
God wasn’t just talking about spa days and bubble baths though. I felt He was talking about taking care of my spirit on this path of salvation and righteousness.
I thought well that’s funny because February technically is the month of love. When God has us to do something, its never for our own selfish ambition or praise, but sometimes God puts us on these task or assignments to get deeper into relationship with Him. In this season, I feel God wants to be more intimate with us. He wants us to be more connected to what He is doing and how He is moving.
I spend time with the Lord every single day, but something in me wants to go to a new level of love for the Lord. It’s time to get more fit in more ways than one! So in this month of love, I will not only be showing love to my physical health but will be spending extra love and care with my spiritual and mental relationship with God, as well as my marriage and home. I want to spend as much time as I can being intimate with God and making sure that I truly have him in the midst of all things going on in my life, and stays there. No falling off!
We can no longer slack on our love and obedience for the Lord. It is time to put in the work and get fit!! Sometime in this month, I want to ask you to set a week if you can, giving God what you can to fast and pray for your relationship with Him. Here are a few scriptures if you would like, for you to pray to God during your intimate time with Him.
I pray that God bless you with spiritual increase on your continued path to righteousness and I encourage you to share your fitness experience with us. Amen!
